GENERAL INFORMATION

What are cookies and what are they used for

A cookie is a text file that a website visited by the user sends to their terminal (computer, mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet), where it is stored to be later sent back to that website on a subsequent visit to the same website.

Cookies are distinguished among themselves:

  • based on the entity that installs them, depending on whether it is the same operator of the visited website (so-called "first-party cookies") or a different entity (so-called "third-party cookies");
  • based on the purpose of each cookie: some cookies allow for better navigation by storing some user choices, such as language (so-called "technical cookies"), while other cookies allow the monitoring of the user's navigation also for the purpose of sending advertising and/or offering services in line with their preferences (so-called "profiling cookies").

Only profiling cookies require the user's prior consent to their use.

The Data Controller is exclusively responsible for the first-party cookies installed by them on the Website.

In the "First-party technical cookies" section, you can view the types of first party technical cookies issued by the Website.

The management of profiling cookies is described in the "Third party profiling cookies" section.
